Joyce Chang is an associate in the firm’s Business Law department. She joined Goodwin in 2024.

Professional Activities

Joyce is a member of the California Lawyers Association and APABA Silicon Valley (Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley).

She serves on the board of directors of Protect & Preserve Hawai‘i, a nonprofit dedicated to a sustainable Hawai‘i through ‘āina stewardship, restoration, and community education.

Joyce maintains an active pro bono practice. During law school, she earned UCI’s Pro Bono Honors Award for work in domestic violence, immigration, and tribal matters. Prior to attending law school, Joyce was a hotline crisis counselor and community educator at her local rape crisis center.

Professional Experience

Joyce is currently on secondment at Harness, where she is working on a variety of general corporate, mergers & acquisitions, commercial, employment, and privacy & AI matters.

While attending law school, Joyce interned at a nonprofit investor in climate technologies. She also served as a research assistant, studying environmental justice impacts of urban freeways. Additionally, Joyce worked in UCI Law’s Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic on freedom of speech and copyright issues.

Prior to attending law school, Joyce was a paralegal at a mid-size law firm in Boston, supporting both its Business, Corporate & Securities group, and Energy, Renewables & Regulated Industries practice.
