Jared Gheen is an associate in Goodwin’s Business Law department, where he also remains an active participant in multiple pro bono projects, including legal name and gender change programs for transgender individuals and expungement clinics for individuals seeking to heal from and improve their lives post incarceration.
Jared is also part of the GX Culture Champions team, “All in as individuals and we win as a team,” as well as the Pride@Goodwin network of LGBTQ professionals at Goodwin.
Jared recently returned from a nine-month client secondment at Bloomreach, Inc., a local and global tech company. At Bloomreach, Jared was involved in various aspects of their in-house team, including managing the company’s patent program, reviewing and revising company policies like their anti-harassment policy and patent program policy; marking up non-disclosure agreements from potential clients; and leading the internal team’s exploration of various Legal AI tools to prepare to implement AI technologies for the in-house legal team.
Professional Activities
Jared served on the Orange County Lavender Bar Association’s Board of Directors as a liaison during his time at UC Irvine.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Jared worked as a project manager for a business-to-consumer communication firm prior to attending law school and subsequently joining Goodwin Procter. Prior to joining the firm, Jared worked in the city attorney’s office for the City of Huntington Beach on civil defense litigation matters, volunteered at UCI’s Domestic Violence Clinic representing victims of domestic violence in their pursuit of civil restraining orders, and worked at the Orange County District Attorney’s office in the Westminster Courthouse conducting research and preliminary hearings.
