Samuel Honnywill is an associate in Goodwin’s Antitrust and Competition practice. Samuel advises on a wide range of competition law issues, including EU, UK and international merger control and foreign direct investment filings, as well as competition and antitrust compliance.

Samuel’s recent experience includes advising:
- Teleflex Inc, a global provider of medical technologies, on its €760 million acquisition of the vascular intervention business of Biotronik SE & Co. KG
- Thoma Bravo and its portfolio company Greenphire on its merger with Suvoda LLC, a global clinical trial technology company
- Freetrade, a digital investment platform, on its acquisition by IG Group
- IK Partners on its acquisition of Sterimed, a leading manufacturer of sterile flexible medical packaging
- FountainVest on its investment in SML Group, a global manufacturer of digital identification solutions
- General Catalyst as lead investor in the €150 million Series E fundraising of ICEYE, a leader in synthetic aperture radar satellite systems
- Celanese on the formation of Nutrinova, a food ingredients joint venture with Mitsui*
- A company on an FCA competition market study into wholesale data markets*

Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Samuel was a trainee solicitor at Shearman & Sterling and subsequently A&O Shearman following the merger between Allen & Overy and Shearman & Sterling. Samuel gained experience in antitrust and competition, international arbitration, investment funds and leveraged finance.
