Rebecca Kennedy is an associate in Goodwin’s Life Sciences group and Healthcare practice, focusing her practice on health care regulatory and compliance matters. Rebecca advises clients on a range of regulatory issues, as well as the regulatory aspects of complex health care transactions, including corporate practice of medicine and fee splitting, state licensing, HIPAA compliance, compliance with federal and state fraud and abuse laws, and Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement issues. Rebecca holds a certification in healthcare compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association.

Rebecca received her JD, summa cum laude, in 2016 from Georgia State University College of Law, where she served on the board of the Georgia State University Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. In 2012, Rebecca graduated from Agnes Scott College with a BA in psychology and political science.

Rebecca is admitted to practice in Georgia only. Her practice is supervised by DC-admitted lawyers at Goodwin.

Rebecca has worked on a range of matters including:

  • Advised Aldrich Capital Partners in its acquisition of Rhythm Management Group Corp., a minority-owned provider of remote monitoring services for cardiac patients
  • Advised Cano Health in its of acquisition of Doctor’s Medical Center, a provider of primary care and multi-specialty healthcare services
  • Advised Tapestry, a family office private equity firm, in its acquisition of Danta Health Limited Liability Company d/b/a Vital Interaction, a healthcare software provider based in Austin, TX and specializes in automating complex communication workflows
  • Advised Clearview Capital portfolio company Community Medical Services in its acquisition of the office-based opioid treatment center, Restorative Health and Recovery*
  • Advised Clearview Capital in its recapitalization of Capitol Imaging Services, a large provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging services in Louisiana and Alabama*
  • Advised a large optometry and ophthalmology management company in multiple acquisitions of practices nationwide*
  • Served as temporary in-house counsel to the largest health insurer in Tennessee*

Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Rebecca was a regulatory health care associate at a national law firm in Atlanta. While in law school, she served as a judicial intern to Justice David Nahmias of the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Rebecca is a member of the Georgia and Atlanta Bar Associations, as well as a member of AHLA and the Health Care Compliance Association.
