Katie Segien is Goodwin’s director of Client Development in Life Science, where she helps drive key growth initiatives across the firm’s Life Sciences platform. Katie partners closely with Life Sciences leadership, partners, Practice Management, and the Client Development team to deepen engagement with the venture capital ecosystem, support strategic pursuits, and enhance Goodwin identifies and develops new opportunities across the practice.
Experience
Before joining Goodwin in 2026, Katie served as vice president of Business Development for Life Sciences and Healthcare at Hercules Capital, where she focused on growth-stage companies across the life sciences and healthcare sectors. Her earlier experience spans a broad range of innovation and commercial roles, including positions at Boston Children’s Hospital’s Innovation Accelerator, Flare Capital (as a fellow), Credit Suisse, and Boston Scientific.
Katie is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned a master’s in business administration. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in financing and entrepreneurship from Northeastern University.
