Aaron Terwey is a partner in the firm’s Technology and Life Sciences groups. For over a decade, he has represented technology and life sciences clients in corporate and securities matters. Investors, innovative startups, and boards of directors consistently seek Aaron’s expertise for advice on a broad array of transactions, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures. Aaron also advises entrepreneurs on pre-incorporation planning and structuring and serves as outside general counsel to emerging growth companies who regularly turn to him for pragmatic, solutions-driven guidance regarding operational issues, strategic decision-making, and corporate governance.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Aaron was an early hire at Atrium, a venture-backed legal tech startup and law firm in San Francisco. Aaron began his legal career as a corporate and M&A associate at an AmLaw 100 firm, before pivoting to working with startups and venture capital firms, eventually managing the ECVC practice of a boutique law firm.

Outside of Goodwin, Aaron served on the Board of Directors of Austin Montessori School for 6 years, including as the President (2021-2023), Vice President (2020-2021), and Secretary (2018-2020) and as a member of the Executive Committee (2018-2023), Risk Management Team (2021-2023), and Finance Committee (2018-2020).
