Previous Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Liz held senior leadership roles at both the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). At the CFPB, Liz served as assistant litigation deputy in the Enforcement Division, supervising complex affirmative litigation. She also served as senior litigation counsel and advised on supervision policy issues at the Bureau.
At the FTC, in addition to litigating consumer protection cases successfully through trial, Liz served as deputy general counsel and as acting general counsel in antitrust litigation against Qualcomm and Meta. She also led overall litigation strategy as chief litigation counsel for the Bureau of Consumer Protection.
Prior to joining the FTC, Liz prosecuted criminal cases as a special assistant United States attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and she litigated fair housing cases throughout the United States as a trial attorney in the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.
