Jessica Vogele is an associate in the firm’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. She focuses her practice on complex private investment litigation and commercial disputes and government and internal investigations. Jessica also has an active pro bono practice, including representing indigent criminal defendants and the wrongfully convicted. She joined the firm in 2021.

  • A nationwide mortgage lender and servicer in an anti-kickback case seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages brought under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act of 1974
  • The former chairman of the board of a global financial institution in connection with securities litigation and various government investigations

Professional Experience

In 2022-2023, Jessica gained significant courtroom experience during a six-month rotation at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as a Special Assistant District Attorney. During that time, she prosecuted numerous felony and misdemeanor cases, which included presenting evidence to grand juries and conducting evidentiary hearings and a jury trial.

Jessica came to Goodwin after clerking for Magistrate Judge Steven M. Gold and District Judge I. Leo Glasser in the Eastern District of New York. Prior to that, Jessica served as a senior court attorney for the Central Legal Research Staff at the New York Court of Appeals, where she prepared comprehensive internal reports on civil motions for leave to appeal, appeals as of right, and appeals selected for sua sponte merits disposition.

While attending law school, Jessica was the Constitutional Law Notes Editor of the Touro Law Review and a teaching assistant for Contracts I and II. She also served as a writing coach at the school’s Writing Center.
