Drawing on past experiences from academia and the biotech industry, Dr. Zheng represents biopharmaceutical companies and research institutions on corporate, financial and commercial matters, with a particular emphasis on complex transactions involving intellectual property. Dr. Zheng counsels clients on corporate partnering issues, strategic alliances, technology licenses, and key commercial contracts.

Professional Experience
Dr. Zheng rejoins Goodwin after serving as Assistant General Counsel at National Resilience Inc., an innovative biomanufacturing start-up, responsible for handling technology transactions. Previously, Dr. Zheng was an attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson where he focused on intellectual property litigation and strategic counseling representing biopharmaceutical client and research institutions. Dr. Zheng was a judicial law clerk for Judge Jimmie Reyna at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, DC.
Prior to law school, Dr. Zheng spent more than a decade in biomedical research and drug discovery. He was Lecturer on Medicine at Harvard Medical School and held a concurrent appointment as Principal Scientist at the Cardiology Division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Zheng was also a co-founder of the Center for Interdisciplinary Cardiovascular Sciences, a joint venture between Harvard and a major Japanese pharmaceutical company. In addition to his scientific expertise, Dr. Zheng also has experience prosecuting patent applications in the areas of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
