Summary

Section 101 of the Patent Act provides for broad patent-eligible subject matter.  Nonetheless, recent caselaw has been expanding the scope of the exceptions to section 101, particularly in matter relating to medical diagnostic and treatment methods.  Now all three branches of government, the PTO, Congress and the Supreme Court, appear poised to act and address how and when to reward inventions in this space with patent protection.  This webinar will cover recent case law from the federal courts, legislative proposals for patent reform and other recent developments. Elaine Blais and Emily Rapalino will be featured speakers.
