NGN Capital and 3i Co-Lead $42.2 Million Series B Financing in Small Bone Innovations

BOSTON, Jan. 4, 2006 — Small Bone Innovations Inc. has announced the completion of its Series B Financing, raising a total of $42.2 million. Based on data provided by Venture Source, this is the largest venture capital investment ever recorded in the field of orthopedic devices.

The financing was co-led by NGN Capital, which recently closed its $250 million global healthcare venture fund, and 3i, a world leader in private equity venture capital that invests more than $1.5 billion annually.
