Paul W. Hespel Joins Goodwin Procter in New York

BOSTON, May 11, 2006 — Goodwin Procter LLP, one of the nation's leading law firms with offices in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC, today announced that Paul W. Hespel has joined the firm as a partner in its Leveraged Finance Practice, resident in the New York office.

Hespel has extensive experience in all areas of leveraged finance, with a particular focus on buy-out financings, leveraged lending, cross-border and structured financings. He has represented borrowers, financial sponsors, arrangers, agent banks, dealer managers, investment banks and secured lenders. He has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating secured and investment grade credit facilities, first and second lien credit facilities, bridge and mezzanine financings, letter of credit facilities, high-yield debt offerings, asset securitizations and structured financings

Hespel joins Goodwin Procter from Shearman & Sterling LLP, where he was a counsel in the firm's Finance Group in New York. He received an LL.M. from Catholic University Leuven, Belgium and from Duke University, and received an M.B.A. from INSEAD, France.
