Goodwin today announced the appointment of Jon Kanter as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer. Based in Boston, Kanter reports to Goodwin’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Caplan. As CFO, Kanter will oversee all of the firm’s financial operations.
Kanter has been with the firm since 2013 and most recently served as the Managing Director of Financial Planning and Analysis with primary responsibility for providing analysis and insight to the firm’s leadership teams and supporting them in their operational and strategic decision making.
“Jon’s keen understanding of our firm and legal industry economics, his collaborative leadership style and his extensive international business experience make him the ideal CFO choice as Goodwin continues to grow internationally with the recent opening of our Frankfurt and Paris offices,” said Caplan.
Before joining Goodwin in 2013, Kanter spent 14 years at London-headquartered international management consultancy PA Consulting. He held several leadership roles at PA, starting in London before moving to Washington, D.C. to assist with the integration of a large U.S. acquisition. He then moved to the Boston office to become Head of Consulting Commercial Finance, with responsibility for the global team of Finance Business Partners that supported the company’s practices, as well as the global team of billing administrators and the credit collection team.
Kanter graduated with a 1st Class degree from Bristol University, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996, after which he spent two years working in Sydney.
