Goodwin Summer Associates Win Anti-Defamation League’s Best Research Memo Award

Goodwin is proud to announce that two former summer associates were honored on December 6 at the 23rd Annual Human Relations Award Luncheon organized by the New York Lawyers Division of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Under the mentorship of partner Fred Rein, summer associates Adanna Uwazurike and Farnell Morisset researched and drafted a memo analyzing the reach of First Amendment protection for online harassment, such as “doxxing” or “swatting.” Uwazurike and Morisset were recognized as winners of the Best Overall Memo in the New York region’s Summer Associate Research Program memo competition. In addition, the New York Lawyers Division congratulated Goodwin as ADL’s 2017 Memo Competition Winning Firm.

The Goodwin team’s winning memo is but one aspect of the firm’s work with ADL over the years as well as Goodwin’s long-term commitment to social justice.

ADL works to fight anti-Semitism and secure justice for all people, irrespective of religion, color, national origin, ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation.
