The Private Equity team advised HCA Healthcare in connection with its participation in the creation of Civica Rx, a not-for-profit generic drug company that aims to prevent drug shortages and reduce prices for patients. HCA Healthcare partnered with seven other healthcare systems and three philanthropic foundations on this venture, which expects to bring its first products to market as early as 2019. The transaction was publicly announced on September 6, 2018.
