Goodwin’s Hong Kong office was recognized for its achievements in Private Equity, Investment Funds and Corporate (including M&A) by the 2021 edition of The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
Legal 500 noted that Goodwin’s Hong Kong private equity team “has a core focus on handling transactions within the ‘new economy,’ with expertise on behalf of both investors and investees”, and the practice was described by a client as having “expertise across the investment life cycle, from early-stage to growth equity to leveraged buyouts.”
Legal 500 also noted that Goodwin’s private investment funds team in Hong Kong “focuses on private equity funds, venture capital funds, and real estate and infrastructure funds.” The Hong Kong team was praised for its “global presence,” which “allows it to handle complex cross-border fund formation matters” as well as “the structuring and establishment of international private investment funds.”
Additionally, Legal 500 noted Goodwin’s Hong Kong corporate M&A team has demonstrated its versatility across the “TMT, life sciences, financial services, business service and real estate sectors.” The guide also referred to the team as “experienced in M&A, financing transactions, leveraged buyouts, stock and asset sales and joint ventures.”
