Jesse Nevarez Named a Rising Star by New York Law Journal

New York Law Journal has named Goodwin partner Jesse Nevarez a Rising Star for 2021. The awards recognize the region’s most promising lawyers who are 40 years old and under. Winners will be honored at the New York Legal Awards on October 13.

Mr. Nevarez represents technology and life sciences companies focused on software, hardware, digital media, advertising, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics and other related specialties. In particular, he regularly advises entrepreneurs, startups, emerging companies and public companies on a variety of matters including company formations, seed, venture and growth equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, IPOs, and other capital markets transactions. He also represents venture capital funds and investment banks focusing on technology and life sciences companies.

Within Goodwin, Mr. Nevarez is a leader on the New York Council of Goodwin’s Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity (CRED), which seeks to recruit, retain and advance lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds at the firm. He is also a member of Goodwin’s recently launched Black Anti-Racism Task Force, and serves as the DEI co-chair for Goodwin’s Technology Business Unit. Recently, Mr. Nevarez was recognized by the National Bar Association’s 40 Under 40 List for 2021, and he has previously been named a 2020 Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) Rising Star.
