Goodwin Further Expands Luxembourg Offering with Finance Counsel Elie-Raphaël Soudry

Global law firm Goodwin announced today that Elie-Raphaël Soudry will join its Luxembourg office as counsel in the firm’s market-leading Private Equity practice.

“Adding top-tier finance support to our Luxembourg platform is essential as we work with our innovator and investor clients on fund structuring and transactions,” said Alexandrine Armstrong-Cerfontaine, head of Goodwin’s Luxembourg practice. “Elie-Raphaël is a highly-respected debt finance lawyer with a broad range of experience and an exciting addition to our team as we continue to offer integrated Luxembourg advice to our clients across Europe and around the world. We look forward to welcoming him to the firm.”

Soudry specializes in banking and finance law, and advises clients on national and cross-border secured lending transactions. He is registered with the Marseille (France) and Luxembourg Bars and was recognized as a “Rising Star” in banking, finance and capital markets by Legal 500 in 2021 and 2022 and named a “Key Lawyer” in real estate and construction in the 2022 edition.

The lawyers in the Luxembourg office, which opened in 2019, cover the entire spectrum of international funds, corporate, finance and tax expertise for fund formation and structuring, domestic and cross border transactions and financings. Recent hires in the Principality include the addition of private investment funds partner Emmanuel Avice earlier this year, with Chambers Global 2022 noting that the firm’s “Luxembourg team is strong and growing in strength and depth.”

Goodwin was named the number one firm (by deal count) for global, U.K., and U.S. M&A, and global, U.S., and European private equity buyouts by Mergermarket in the H1 2022 league tables.
