She focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, both domestically and internationally. Ms. Guckaya’s practice is focused specifically in the areas of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, communications systems, cybersecurity, and financial technology. Specific technology areas include data processing and analytics, machine learning, mobile applications, and blockchain. In the past, she has also prosecuted applications in the areas of medical devices, materials, and filtration systems. Ms. Guckaya also has expertise in filing and prosecuting design patents.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Ms. Guckaya was a patent agent at a local IP boutique firm, where she focused on patent prosecution and patent portfolio management for startup businesses, including U.S. and foreign filing strategy. Previously, she was an IP manager at WiTricity Corporation in Watertown, Massachusetts, overseeing a global patent portfolio and advising IP-oriented business strategy. Ms. Guckaya is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and her practice is limited to matters and proceedings before the USPTO.
