Wendell Lin is an associate in Goodwin’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice. Wendell represents clients in a broad variety of complex intellectual property matters in the biotechnology, computer software, semiconductor, telecommunications, finance, and consumer products industries. Wendell has represented companies in various stages of litigation involving patents, trade secret misappropriation, and copyright infringement.

Wendell maintains an active pro bono practice, having represented individuals and nonprofits in matters related to housing in the San Francisco Bay Area, immigration, and criminal justice reform. 

Professional Activities

Wendell is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Chinatown Community Development Center, a San Francisco based nonprofit whose mission is to build community and enhance the quality of life for San Francisco residents.

  • Represented international digital advertising company in trade secret litigation involving automatic content recognition technology
  • Representing biotechnology company in trade secret litigation involving allosteric drug discovery
  • Represented technology company in trade secret litigation involving autonomous vehicle technology
  • Represented international telecommunications company in dispute involving multinational cross-border copyright licensing
  • Represented biotechnology company in litigation involving contractual breach and negligence claims
  • Represented international food distributer in litigation involving breach of contract and fiduciary duties claims
  • Represented healthcare staffing company in trade secret litigation involving computer source code

Prior to joining Goodwin, Wendell served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward M. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the Honorable Samuel K. Feng of the Superior Court of California, the Honorable Roger C. Chan of the Superior Court of California, and the Honorable Victor M. Hwang of the Superior Court of California.

Prior to law school, Wendell served as a senior staff member in the Mayor’s Office of San Francisco.
