Prior to joining Goodwin, Ms. Garber Siegrist was a senior manager with KPMG LLP, Washington National Tax, Exempt Organizations group where she served tax-exempt organizations. Prior to KPMG, she was an associate in the Nonprofit Organizations practice at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP. There, she advised nonprofit tax-exempt clients on a full range of tax, corporate, and transactional matters in addition to serving clients as external general counsel. Ms. Garber Siegrist also worked with the Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation, Public International Law & Policy Group, and co-founded a tax-exempt nonprofit organization to provide educational scholarships. Prior to legal practice, Ms. Garber Siegrist was a 5th grade teacher in The Bronx with Teach For America.
Ms. Garber Siegrist is a member of the District of Columbia and American Bar Associations. She is the Chair of the D.C. Bar’s Tax-Exempt Organizations Committee. She previously served as the Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Nonprofit Organizations Committee Trade and Professional Association Subcommittee. Ms. Garber Siegrist is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Ms. Garber Siegrist is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law with American University Washington College of Law where she teaches nonprofit law courses.
