Ai Tajima is a partner in Goodwin’s Risk Management & Insurance practice and concentrates her practice on advising and advocating for clients on insurance matters. She is a leading practitioner of transactional insurance and offers practical advice during every stage of M&A transactions using R&W, W&I, and other transactional insurance.

Experience

Ai counsels a broad range of multinational clients across the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, including private equity sponsors, corporate buyers, and technology companies in both transactional and litigation contexts. She has extensive experience negotiating R&W, W&I, D&O, and other insurance policies. For years, she has been at the forefront of negotiating and structuring transactional insurance in complex transactions for clients. She also advises clients regarding the scope of insurance coverage and related indemnification obligations and advocates for clients during the claims process. Ai previously practiced as a litigator and represented clients in complex litigation and government investigations, which gives her insight on the practical impact of insurance coverage and policy language.

Ai was the recipient of the Suffolk University Law Faculty Outstanding Student Award-Evening Division at graduation. During law school, Ai received Jurisprudence Awards for Constitutional Law, Commercial Law Sales, Criminal Law, and Professional Responsibility.

She was also a member of the Moot Court Board and the Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy, and participated in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
