5G & The Internet of Things: The Players, the Risks, & the Opportunities CLE

October 15, 2019 - October 16, 2019
Goodwin's Silicon Valley and San Francisco Offices

Summary

5G technology is knocking on your doors and Goodwin, in collaboration with DOAR, is pleased to invite you to join a discussion on the 5G landscape, anticipated pitfalls and probabilities, and opportunities this advanced technology presents.

With the growing question of liability, connected products are under more scrutiny than ever. In this session we will discuss the pros and cons of connected products and considerations that should be taken to mitigate risk. Also, with tens of thousands of patents involved and dozens of companies expecting to be paid for their use, Goodwin and DOAR will provide a roadmap on how to navigate this complex territory while providing a deeper understanding of 5G pools and licensing efforts, unknown “wireless” patents, major NPE players holding significant patents, and more.

Michael Connelly, Director of IP Litigation at DOAR, will be the guest speaker. Goodwin's Rachel Walsh will be a featured speaker.
