As attorneys, clients and law students have increased the use of social media in their daily lives, Goodwin Procter has also expanded its online presence and social media activities. These new online platforms provide highly targeted information and resources on key topics, such as Dodd-Frank-- and offer some interesting opportunities for partnering with our alumni.
The firm's corporate website, as well as the GoodwinConnect and WomenConnect portals, have demonstrated the firm's commitment to online media. And, over the past year, Goodwin has introduced several new blogs, Twitter accounts and informational microsites. Most recently, the firm launched its redesigned Goodwin Procter Facebook page, with videos, links, feature stories, and other user-friendly elements, designed to appeal to the Facebook audience.
Among the most successful has been the award-winning Founder's Workbench microsite. As its name implies, the site is targeted to the founders of early-stage companies and boot-strap start-ups, providing free access to critical forms, memoranda, best practices and other resources.
Before building the Founder's Workbench, Goodwin conducted an extensive audit of websites that offered free start-up documents, and evaluated the quantity and quality of the available documents. We also surveyed existing start-up company clients for their input. The resulting site features a comprehensive, interactive Document Driver that goes far beyond existing offerings, as well as a Founder's Toolbox Blog that examines trends and provides high value guidance from Goodwin's lawyers and an array of other industry experts.
Founder's Workbench was named "<ahref="http:>Best Microsite" in the 2011 Legal Marketing Association Your Honor Awards competition. Goodwin's Information Technology Department was named to CIO magazine's 2011 CIO 100 list for demonstrating operational and strategic excellence via Founder's Workbench, while InformationWeek named Goodwin to its 2011 500 List of Top Technology Innovators Across America, based on the Founder's Workbench initiative.</ahref="http:>
Since April 2010, Goodwin's Sustainable Development blog has helped real estate professionals navigate the rapidly evolving green-building and sustainable development sectors. Edited by members of the firm's public finance and infrastructure practices, the blog features posts, links and relevant information on a variety of topics ranging from climate change, LEED compliance and renewable energy to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), project financing and transportation initiatives.
Both microsites offer opportunities for Goodwin alumni, clients and business partners to contribute as guest bloggers or to provide links and resources that may be relevant to visitors.
Alumni can also follow Founder's Workbench (@FoundersToolBox) and Sustainable Development (@GreenBuildLaw) blogs on Twitter. You can also follow Goodwin Procter on Twitter (@GoodwinProcter) for the latest firm news, events and publications.
