Goodwin alum Nithya Das recently spoke with ABA Journal about how associates should build their internal and external networks to engage clients and boost their profile at the firm. Now the legal counsel at AppNexus, she has remained involved with Goodwin as chair of its entrepreneur advisory board.
In the article, Nithya discusses how associates in their first year should be thinking about whether they want to be on the partner track or not, and how to plan for it accordingly. “From my perspective, the best way to do that is to find and build relationships, both inside and outside of your firm, with people who can be mentors and sponsors. Since moving in-house, I’ve continued to leverage my Goodwin Procter network,” said Nithya in the article.
When she was an associate in Goodwin's New York office, Nithya launched a variety of social media campaigns, all with the goal of deepening client connections and enhancing her visibility at Goodwin and in the tech industry. “Ultimately, if you stay at a firm…you want to be the rainmaker. And if you leave your firm, you need a network that can help you find your way,” commented Nithya.
