Goodwin Procter, a leading Am Law 50 and Global 50 law firm, announced today that William Growney is joining the firm as a partner in its Technology & Life Sciences Group and will be resident in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. Growney has more than 20 years’ industry experience working as both in-house and outside counsel, and advises technology and other start-ups on matters involving financing, M&A, corporate governance, licensing/IP and privacy and data security.

Growney comes to the firm from Bay Area technology company and Goodwin client RichRelevance, where he served as General Counsel. Previously, he has held executive leadership, management and legal roles for various publicly held and venture-backed companies, including for entities focused on online music (Napster – NASDAQ: NAPS) and social media (imeem).
