Goodwin Procter advised HSBC Alternative Investments (acting on behalf of clients of HSBC Private Bank) and Hines UK on the £416m sale of Broadgate Quarter in the City of London to Blackstone, the US private equity firm. The transaction, which closed in December, was one of the largest UK asset sales in 2015.
Broadgate Quarter is a 460,000 sq ft multi-let office building on the edge of the Broadgate Estate, an iconic property in London.
The Goodwin team was led by London Real Estate Capital Markets partner Joe Conder and included partner James Spence, counsel Martin Smith and associate Simon Woodcock (Real Estate Capital Markets); and associate Katie Leah (Tax).
