Goodwin partner Aly Simons is the recipient of the 2019 Women, Influence & Power in Law Award in the Thought Leadership category. Presented by Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel, the annual awards honor in-house leaders, general counsel and law firm partners who have shown a strong commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law.
Simons is a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department and a member of its M&A/Corporate Governance and Technology Companies groups, specializing in coaching boards and executives through successful M&A exits and helping companies grow their businesses and realize value through acquisition. She also advises companies in all stages of growth, and has experience advising venture funds and growth equity funds in a variety of investment transactions including structuring and executing secondary sales and other private liquidity programs.
Simons serves as the Co-Chair of the San Francisco chapter of Goodwin’s women’s initiative, Women@Goodwin, which supports the firm’s goals to attract, retain, develop and advance women at all stages of their careers. Her commitment to equality and professional accomplishments have also garnered recognition from the M&A Advisor’s Emerging Leader Awards and Daily Journal’s 40 Under 40.
Simons and the rest of this year’s winners will be honored on October 16 at the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference in Washington, D.C.
