The Private Investment Funds team advised Palamon Capital Partners alongside their M&A counsel on Palamon’s follow-on investment, in partnership with the management team of IDH Group, to acquire the shareholding of The Carlyle Group and other minority shareholders in IDH to become the sole equity sponsor.
Palamon is a private equity partnership that manages €1.4 billion of funds and invests growth capital of between €30 million and €100 million in European lower mid-market companies. Palamon has been a long-term investor in IDH, having originally acquired the business in 2011 in partnership with Carlyle.
IDH Group offers dental treatments to more than five million patients every year through its network of almost 600 dental practices operating under the {my}dentist brand. IDH also owns Dental Directory (now branded DD), one of the UK’s largest suppliers of dental and beauty products, which services more than 12,000 dental practices and 6,000 beauty clinics.
