Goodwin's rapid ascent of the global M&A league tables hasn’t gone unnoticed. Kirkie Maswoswe jumped to Goodwin as an M&A partner in New York, citing the firm’s top position on the deal charts. “It’d take a lot for me to move, but Goodwin was the one firm that hit all the points for a long-term career,” Maswoswe told Law.com. “It has a world-class platform for M&A globally, and the team is extremely collaborative, innovative and client-centric.” She added, “Part of the success of the firm is its lifecycle practice and its volume of deals.” Looking ahead, Maswoswe expects Goodwin’s public M&A practice to remain in demand, especially due to certain sectors such as tech. “Strategic M&A has been waiting in the wings and it is becoming more front and center. I also see private equity as continuing to be prevalent,” Maswoswe said. “I do think we’re seeing a changing buy-side mindset.”
