Goodwin topped the lists of deals announced and completed globally. It had a part in 647 transactions announced, worth $110.74 billion, placing it 22nd by value. The firm was also involved in 622 deals completed globally, worth $140.509 billion, putting it in 15th place by value. “That is a real testament to the firm strategy, which is focusing on certain verticals and really going all in on those verticals,” says Josh Zachariah, Goodwin’s co-chair of Global M&A. The firm’s practices are based on serving clients in private equity, technology, life sciences, real estate, investment funds and healthcare. “The strategy is about positioning ourselves to provide our clients with full service in those specific areas, not just the M&A lawyers that are on the deal, but across our entire bench looking at all of our specialty areas, making sure that we're best in class across all of those areas to serve within those industries,” Zachariah adds.
