Former Solo Practitioner Joins Goodwin's Funds Team (Law360)

A former solo practitioner focused on the formation and life cycle management of private investment funds and related vehicles has joined Goodwin in New York, the firm announced Wednesday. "Running my own boutique investment funds practice was an incredibly rewarding chapter," Julia Kolovarsky told Law360 Pulse. "For almost a decade, I was able to do sophisticated, high-level work for great clients. But there came a time when I was ready to move to a broader platform with the chance to build alongside a very strong team, and Goodwin presented the perfect opportunity." Kolovarsky's addition to Goodwin's Private Investment Funds practice follows those of California-based Shandy Pinkowski and Hong Kong-based Youjung Byon last year. "Goodwin's private investment funds platform is one of the best in the market, with a reputation for being both highly technical and deeply commercial," Kolovarsky said. "The strength of the team, the collaborative culture, and the firm's position at the center of the private capital ecosystem were the real differentiators for me." "Julia brings more than two decades of experience advising sponsors and institutional investors on the structuring, formation, and operation of private investment funds across asset classes," Private Equity partner Eric Goldstein said in a statement Wednesday. "She is known for her thoughtful judgment, practical approach to complex fund structures, and entrepreneurial mindset. Julia's collaborative style and commitment to mentorship will further enrich our team and support the continued growth of our private funds practice."
