Julia Kolovarsky is a partner in Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds group and is based in the firm’s New York office. Julia specializes in the structuring, formation, and operation of private investment funds, including private equity, venture capital, and growth equity funds, as well as bespoke separately managed account programs and customized “fund-of-one” structures. She advises leading sponsors and asset managers on fund governance, regulatory and compliance matters, sponsor economics, investor negotiations, and co-investment arrangements. Julia also counsels institutional investors on their investments in private investment funds and alternative investment vehicles across multiple strategies.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Julia was the founding partner of a boutique investment funds practice advising leading sponsors on complex fund platforms and customized separately managed account programs. She previously served as a Senior Investment Funds Attorney Editor at Thomson Reuters Practical Law and was a Senior Associate in the Investment Funds practices at Clifford Chance and O’Melveny & Myers. Julia began her legal career at McCarthy Tétrault in Canada.
