The Technology team advised Lightspeed Venture Partners on co-leading the $1.1 billion investment round into Ineffable Intelligence, a new AI research lab in London, founded in November 2025, with a mission to make first contact with superintelligence. The company is building a superlearner—a system that discovers all knowledge directly through its own experience, from elementary motor skills to profound intellectual breakthroughs, with the potential to rediscover and then transcend the greatest inventions in human history. The investment round is reported to be the largest seed round ever raised in Europe.
Lightspeed is a multi-stage venture capital firm managing over $40 billion in assets. Since its founding in 2000, Lightspeed has been the first investor and an early backer of some of the most innovative companies in the world.
The Goodwin team advising Lightspeed was led by Adam Thatcher and Kerry Corrigan. Goodwin also acted for other investors that participated in the investment round.
