Michelle Blum is a seasoned consumer financial services and data litigation lawyer with deep experience defending complex federal and state consumer protection matters nationwide. Her practice focuses on high‑stakes litigation under the federal Consumer Credit Protection Act, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as well as parallel claims brought under companion state laws. She also advises clients on consumer protection compliance and data security issues, helping them manage legal risk in an evolving regulatory landscape.

Over nearly two decades, Michelle has served as national coordinating counsel for individual consumer litigation brought under the FCRA for Experian, one of the three national credit reporting agencies in the United States. In that role, she has overseen and coordinated litigation filed in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, managing large‑scale, multi‑jurisdictional matters with consistency and strategic oversight.

Michelle regularly defends claims involving alleged inaccuracies in consumer reporting, disclosure and authorization requirements, adverse action notices, and related statutory and regulatory issues. Her experience spans the full lifecycle of consumer litigation, from early risk assessment and compliance counseling through motion practice, discovery, and resolution.

Michelle is an active member of the Federal Bar Association – Orange County Chapter, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers – Orange County, and the Orange County Bar Association.
