Steve Cuss
Steve Cuss is a senior patent attorney in Goodwin’s Life Sciences practice. He is a European Patent Attorney, Chartered Patent Attorney (UK), and European Patent Litigator with more than a decade of experience advising biotech and pharma clients on patent strategy.
Steve’s practice spans patent drafting, prosecution, EPO oppositions, portfolio management, freedom-to-operate analysis, and due diligence. He has represented a wide range of clients, from individuals seeking patent protection for their first invention to large companies managing mature international portfolios.
Steve focuses on life sciences technologies, with particular experience in patents relating to immunotherapies, drug delivery compositions, gene therapies, oligonucleotide therapies, and nucleic acid sequencing. Before entering the patent profession, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Cancer Institute of the NIH, where his research focused on cancer immunotherapies. His doctoral research was carried out at the University of Cambridge and related to regulatory T cells.
