Jeremy Lateiner

Jeremy Lateiner is a counsel in the firm’s Litigation department and a member of its Intellectual Property Litigation practice. He concentrates his practice on complex commercial disputes, with a focus on technology clients and trade secret litigation, including trade secret litigation relating to employee mobility and trade secret litigation between competitors. He also represents cannabis industry clients in commercial disputes, including trademark infringement litigation. He joined Goodwin in 2015.

Jeremy is a counsel in Goodwin's Intellectual Property Litigation group and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial disputes in California state and federal courts including contract disputes, fraud, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, cybersquatting, unfair business practices, and antitrust. Jeremy counsels clients in pre-litigation matters and government investigations, including complex electronic discovery.

Jeremy’s recent experience includes successfully resolving multiple cases asserting employee mobility related claims, including trade secret misappropriation, in courts in California, Delaware, Ohio, Utah and Virginia. He also represented two Fortune 500 technology companies through trial in contract disputes.

Jeremy also frequently works on pro bono matters. His recent matters include representing an indigent defendant facing multiple criminal indictments in federal court.

Jeremy is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Jeremy was an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in that firm’s San Francisco office and was previously an associate at Hinton, Alfert, Sumner & Kaufmann in Walnut Creek, California.

Jeremy has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by the Legal 500 US for his work in the area of Trade Secrets in 2023. Jeremy was named a Northern California Super Lawyer “Rising Star” in 2009–2011 and 2013–2020.
