Heidi Goldstein Shepherd

Heidi Goldstein Shepherd serves as the firm’s Chief People Officer and Assistant General Counsel for Employment. Heidi works closely with Goodwin’s leadership to define Goodwin’s people strategies focusing on making Goodwin a talent destination. Together with a global team of professionals, Heidi works to recruit, integrate, train, develop, engage, recognize, reward, and advance elite performers who can seamlessly fuse legal excellence with strategic and business advisory capabilities. She also plays an integral role in overseeing the firm’s talent management activities.

Heidi joined Goodwin as a lateral associate in 1999. Previously, she had worked as an associate at Ropes & Gray, following a clerkship at the U.S. District Court in Vermont. She was named a partner in 2006 and served in that role until she became Chief HR Officer of the firm in 2011. Heidi has extensive experience representing management and institutional clients in all aspects of the employment relationship and counseled clients on a wide range of employment-related issues that arise in day-to-day business activities.
