Heidi Goldstein Shepherd

Heidi Goldstein Shepherd serves as the firm’s chief partner success officer and assistant general counsel for employment. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the partner lifecycle from admission through retirement. Heidi works closely with Goodwin’s leadership to focus on partner integration, development, coaching, compensation, career planning, and retirement support.

Heidi joined Goodwin as a lateral associate in 1999. Previously, she had worked as an associate at Ropes & Gray, following a clerkship at the U.S. District Court in Vermont. She was named a partner in 2006 and served in that role until she became chief HR officer of the firm in 2011. She assumed the partner success role in October 2026. Heidi has extensive experience representing management and institutional clients in all aspects of the employment relationship and counseled clients on a wide range of employment-related issues that arise in day-to-day business activities.
