Kitty Zhang is a science advisor in the firm’s Business Law department and a member of its Life Science Intellectual Property group. Kitty is a synthetic organic chemist by training who applies her technical expertise to protect life-science innovations. Her work includes patent drafting and prosecution, prior-art searches, and freedom-to-operate analyses. She joined Goodwin in 2024.

Previous Professional Experience
Before joining Goodwin, Kitty spent five years as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. She earned her Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Cornell University, where she developed synthetic routes to nematode signaling molecules, focusing on the ascaroside pheromones of Caenorhabditis elegans.
