Goodwin Procter Adds Five from Heller Ehrman

Firm Welcomes High Profile Attorneys to Technology, Life Sciences and Labor Practices in New York and Silicon Valley

BOSTON, Oct. 14, 2008 – Goodwin Procter announced today that five attorneys have joined the firm from Heller Ehrman. Stephen M. Davis, Kevin T. Collins and Wesley C. Fredericks, Jr. have joined in the New York office; and Steven R. Feldstein has joined the firm’s Silicon Valley office as a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice.

Davis formerly served as co-chair of Heller Ehrman’s Corporate/Venture Capital Law Group (VLG) and is a former chair of its New York Business Practice. His extensive corporate and securities practice focuses on representing technology and life sciences and clean technology companies. He advises his clients on matters relating to corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and joint ventures, along with institutional investors focused on these markets.

Collins also was a member of Heller Ehrman’s Corporate/VLG Practice Group, and co-chair of the Life Sciences Practice. He advises clients primarily in the life sciences industry on issues presented over the entire life cycle of an enterprise, including general corporate matters, private and public securities and strategic partnering and various licensing matters.

Fredericks previously was chairman of Heller Ehrman’s New York Business Law Practice, a member of its Corporate/VLG Practice Group, and has extensive experience in representing technology companies – with an industry focus in life sciences. He advises his clients with respect to domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, public and private financings, corporate governance and board of directors counseling, and regulatory compliance.

Feldstein was the former co-chair of Heller Ehrman’s Labor & Employment Practice Group nationwide. He advises clients nationally on a number of mission-critical matters including, employee relations, trade secrets protection, avoiding and litigating wrongful termination and employment discrimination claims, labor union issues, employee handbooks and policies and workforce reductions. He also represents companies on the employment-related ramifications of corporate mergers and acquisitions.

For the past 30 years, Stern has focused his practice on high-technology and health-related companies. He has extensive experience in the U.S. and foreign licensing of patents and other proprietary rights by and to high-technology companies, as well as the exploitation of their technology through joint venture, corporate partnering, research and development and distribution agreements.
