Goodwin Procter Advises Jumptap in Sale to Millennial Media

Goodwin Procter advised mobile advertising company Jumptap Inc. in its recent sale to Millennial Media Inc., a leading independent mobile ad platform.

Jumptap provides technology to advertisers, publishers and wireless carriers to reach mobile users and online audiences worldwide. The former competitors will now join their companies’ technology, tools and services to help developers maximize their advertising revenue, acquire users for their apps and gain insight about their users.

Jumptap has partnerships with more than 20 third-party data providers, and the new Millennial Media offering will have more than 480 million consumer profiles. Millennial Media will also acquire 62 issued patents and more than 50 additional patent applications owned by Jumptap covering fundamental aspects of mobile advertising targeting.

Headquartered in Boston, Jumptap is a longtime Goodwin client, with the firm advising it from incorporation, through several rounds of financings and its sale to Millennial.
