Firm Highly Commended for Expanding Clients’ Business
Goodwin Procter has been recognized by Financial Times (FT) as one of the most innovative law firms in its 2015 North America Innovative Lawyers report. Goodwin was named a “Highly Commended” law firm in the “Expanding Clients’ Business” category for its counsel on the over $1 billion Foundation Medicine-Roche tender offer and strategic collaboration in January 2015. FT applauded Goodwin’s creation of a novel deal structure that enabled Roche to become a majority shareholder in Foundation Medicine, while allowing Foundation Medicine to maintain full operational and governance independence.
Drawing from Goodwin’s distinguished Technology & Life Sciences, M&A/Corporate Governance, Capital Markets and Life Sciences practices, Foundation Medicine’s deal team was led by Stuart Cable, Kingsley Taft and Lisa Haddad. The equity transaction team included Arthur McGivern, Daniel Lang and Caitlin Murray. The collaboration/licensing team was led by Chris Denn, and included Karen Spindler and Noelle Dubiansky.
