London Private Equity partner Gemma Roberts was named U.K. Lawyer of the Year by The Deal at its inaugural European Awards ceremony at the Aqua Shard in London on November 1. The award recognizes the leading international lawyers, bankers and investors who power M&A in Europe and around the globe.
Roberts represents a broad range of private equity sponsors, corporate clients and portfolio companies on a variety of corporate and commercial advisory matters. She was recently recognized as a Law360 Rising Star for her work including in leading Goodwin’s London team on GTT Communications’ $2.3 billion purchase of privately held European-based Interoute Communications. Roberts and the Goodwin deal team also garnered recognition from Real Deals as the 2018 Pan European Legal Adviser of the Year and LegalWeek as the 2018 Transatlantic M+A Team of the Year for their work advising WisdomTree Investments on its $611 million acquisition of ETF Securities’ European commodities platform.
