Runjhun Kudaisya

Runjhun Kudaisya is a partner in Goodwin’s Private Equity group and a member of the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice, and is based in the firm’s New York office. Runjhun has extensive experience advising asset managers on various aspects of fund formation and investment adviser matters. She counsels clients on structure, formation, launch, capital raising, and ongoing operating of investment funds (closed-ended, open-ended and hybrid), including private equity, infrastructure, real estate, debt, hedge funds, separate account arrangements, "fund-of-one" structures, and other customized investment products. Her clients range from institutional asset managers to entrepreneurial participants in the industry.

Runjhun also advises investment advisers in regulatory and compliance matters, including registration and compliance policies and procedures. She has also counseled fund managers faced with succession planning and conflict resolution issues. She advises on funds-related investment and strategic transactions such as co-investments and seed capital arrangements.

Runjhun also counsels institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds, fund of funds, and public pension plans, in connection with their investments into private investment funds across various asset classes and strategies.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Runjhun was most recently Of Counsel in the Investment Management Practice of another leading international law firm, resident in the New York office.

Prior thereto, Runjhun was the assistant general counsel at a global asset manager and a private funds associate at another nationally recognized law firm. Runjhun began her legal career as a manager in the corporate legal group of an Indian multinational bank and financial services company in New Delhi, India.

Runjhun has previously served on the New York University Law School Alumni Board of Directors.

Runjhun has been selected for inclusion in The Legal 500 U.S. 2022.
