Matthew Reardon is a partner in the firm’s Business Law Department and a member of its Technology and Life Sciences groups, and Impact and Responsible Investing practice. Mr. Reardon is a business and securities lawyer who represents public and private companies and investors. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, investment transactions, securities law, and general corporate matters. He joined Goodwin in 2015.





Mr. Reardon advises a variety of investors and high-growth technology and life sciences clients across a broad range of industries. Mr. Reardon works with these clients in connection with various corporate, strategic, and securities transactions, including private placements and mergers and acquisitions, as well as general business matters.

Professional Experience
  • Mr. Reardon co-taught "Forming and Financing a Start-Up Business," a semester-long course in the Transactional Law Program at the Boston University School of Law.
  • Mr. Reardon serves as a mentor a judge in the MIT $100K Entrepreneur Competition.
  • Mr. Reardon leads mock negotiation sessions for the MIT Sloan School of Management course "Early Stage Capital."
  • Mr. Reardon is actively involved in pro bono matters, serving as outside general counsel for THINKMD, Inc., a public benefit corporation that has deployed a free screening assessment and education tool to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic spread and response. Read more about their efforts here.


At the University of Virginia School of Law, Mr. Reardon served as editor of the Virginia Environmental Law Journal and president of Action for a Better Living Environment (a mentoring program matching law students with students at local elementary and middle schools). He was a finalist in the American Bar Association Law Student Writing Competition for his paper “Understanding the Liability and Damages Issues of LEED Certified Projects."
