Event Recap
California’s Fair Investment Practices by Venture Capital Companies Law introduced a new transparency and reporting regime for venture capital firms and other private investment vehicles with a California nexus. Beginning in March 2026, covered entities must register with the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation and annually report aggregated demographic information regarding the founding teams of certain portfolio companies.
This webinar provided an overview of the law’s scope, key compliance requirements, and upcoming deadlines. It highlighted practical considerations for fund managers as they assess the law’s applicability to their entities, prepare for registration, and implement data collection and reporting processes.
A slide deck from the webinar is available to access here.
