Goodwin Procter litigation partner Willy Jay was recently named to the National Law Journal’s 2015 Rising Stars list for the Washington, D.C. area. Jay was selected as one of the region’s outstanding lawyers under the age of 40.
Jay, a partner and co-chair of the firm’s Appellate Litigation Practice, has argued 13 cases before the United States Supreme Court, including recent victories in Teva Pharmaceutical USA Inc. v. Sandoz Inc. and B&B Hardware Inc. v. Hargis Industries Inc. He has also handled cases in every U.S. Court of Appeals and in several trial courts, state appellate courts and administrative agencies.
Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Jay served for five years as Assistant to the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice. In that capacity, he handled Supreme Court and appellate matters for a wide variety of federal agencies, including every Cabinet Department and numerous executive and independent agencies.
