The Real Estate Industry group represented nine clients who were recently involved in 15 transactions that were named to Real Estate Alert’s Top Property Sales of 2017 list, which highlights the top office, multi-family and retail transactions of the year.
The noteworthy deals include the representation of Brookfield Properties in connection with its $2.21 billion sale of 245 Park Avenue, a 45-story office tower located in Midtown Manhattan to a subsidiary of HNA Property Holdings in 2017. The deal featured one of the highest prices ever paid for a New York City skyscraper.
The team also advised Primestor Development in the sale of seven shopping centers situated on 114 urban acres, with retail assets totaling 1.3 million square feet, to Federal Realty Investment Trust for $345 million.
In addition to the transactions named by Real Estate Alert, a sampling of Goodwin’s representative clients includes:
- Top 50 Office Property Sales
- Blackrock Realty Advisors
- Beacon Capital Partners
- Trinity Church
- GreenOak Real Estate Advisors
- Large Multi-Family Transactions
- Prospect Capital Corporation
- Brookfield Financial Properties

Real Estate Alert tracks the sale of U.S. properties valued at $25 million or more. It includes both single-property deals and portfolio sales, and encompasses all commercial property types.
Earlier this year, Goodwin’s Real Estate Industry group was recognized as Law360’s Practice Group of the Year, noted for their work providing clients with advice “across the real estate spectrum” and going beyond “hammering out the details between buyers and sellers.”
