Goodwin Officially Enters Philadelphia with 14 Partners Across 3 Practice Groups (Philadelphia Business Journal)

A group of 14 partners focused on Life Sciences and Healthcare clientele have left to start a Philadelphia office for megafirm Goodwin, according to Philadelphia Business Journal. The group is led by Thomas Gallagher, Rachael Bushey and John Jones — three of the biggest rainmakers in Philadelphia. The group will be joined by partner Barbara Shander, a transactional lawyer focused on Private Equity deals who has been working remotely from Philadelphia since joining Goodwin last February. In a prepared statement, Goodwin Chairman Rob Insolia said that the firm’s strategy is to be the firm of choice for clients doing business within the healthcare, life sciences, private equity, real estate, technology, and financial services sectors, and where they converge. “The team joining us aligns with our long-term strategy and will further scale Goodwin’s global capital-meets-innovation platform for the benefit of our clients,” Insolia said.
