Ravi Chopra Named a Private Funds CFO Legal Rising Star

Goodwin partner Ravi Chopra has been named a Legal Rising Star by Private Funds CFO for 2023. The annual list recognizes 20 of the best up-and-coming private funds lawyers under the age of 40 internationally, who have exemplified excellence and a determination to innovate.

Based in London, Chopra is a partner in Goodwin’s Private Investment Funds group and is active in the firm’s Secondaries practice. He specializes in structuring private capital vehicles across private equity, credit, life sciences, and healthcare, and has particular expertise advising on preferred equity arrangements, GP-led transactions, longer-term capital, and multicurrency solutions.

Private Funds CFO highlighted Chopra’s recent leadership in advising Intermediate Capital Group on the structuring and fundraising of its eighth European Corporate fund, which closed on ₤8.1 billion, as well as his work across fundraising and secondaries. Chopra was also recognized for his dedication to mentoring the next generation of legal talent. He co-leads Goodwin’s UK graduate recruitment program and is a member of the London office’s community engagement panel, where he partners with local schools to provide mentorship and promote access to professional services industries.

A thought leader in his industry, Chopra is frequently quoted on his insights on the European legal market, the impact of Brexit, legal technology, and secondaries markets, and has written a variety of publications on permanent capital vehicles.
